This week I chatted with mobile award winning, Arie Ball, VP Talent Acquisition at Sodexo. In the interview Arie shares with us the journey of going mobile. There is hard data illustrating the volume of jobseekers consuming Sodexo employer brand on mobile and to advice for those planning to go mobile soon. Watch the video for the full interview.
Sodexo launched their first mobile optimised website in 2010, they have watched their online jobseeker traffic on mobile grow from 4% to 17% of their total jobseeker traffic. Interesting nearly 1 in 3 hires have looked at Sodexo careers on mobile.
Arie shares her thoughts around best practice, "Start with mobile optimising your website, obviously", to many this advice is not so obvious. Sodexo saw their second priority as working with their ATS vendor to optimise mobile apply. Sodexo's ATS was focused on delivering mobile, this is not the case for everyone. However it does not prevent organisations achieving mobile apply their are companies such as Jibe and Mobolt that can deliver mobile apply into any ATS.
The last goal of Arie's, 3 steps to mobile is delivering native applications, i.e. an iPhone / Android app. The data Sodexo collect illustrates the value the app has provided for internal hires, existing staff are less likely to delete the app.
