Recruitment leaders from prestigious companies including Accenture, Adobe, Amazon, Dolby Laboratories, E&Y, Groupon, LinkedIn, Mozilla, PepsiCo, UPS, and various mobile experts land in Atalnta, GA for the worlds largest ever conference on mobile and recruiting. "mRec 2013" is in its 3rd year, previous success and recruiter demands has forced the organisers to push the event from a one day conference to a fully packed two day multi tracked mecca of mobile and recruiting. It is going to be a blast!
The key question from recruiters has changed since mRec started in 2011. The question is no longer "why", instead it is "how". The schedule is busy and it is going to be tough to pick which sessions to watch. I am looking forward to the following sessions which talk about the "how"...
- Mat Caldwell, Mozilla (the organisation behind Firefox)
- Matt Lavery, UPS
- Matt Alder, Metashift
- Kay Kelison, GroupOn
- Gary Conaway, Amazon
mRec is a highlight on my calendar, there are other recruiting conferences that I enjoy, but mRec is the only one that focus exclusively on mobile. As well as learning how global enterprises are attracting talent via smartphones and tablets, the event showcases the latest examples of mobile innovation for everyone to learn from. I enjoy the high paced vendor spotlight where mobile recruiting vendors demonstrate their wares with the clock ticking in a 'TED' style pitch. An hour or two invested in the vendor showcase can save months of vendor research.
There is not long to wait, less than 30 days before mRec 2013, I am really look forwards to catching up with old friends and to meet new interesting innovative people from the recruiting industry.
I am lucky enough to be speaking on day two at 2pm in the "solution room". I will be sharing pragmatic advice from my experience and from the many people who have taken part in an interview series I run called "Mobile In Action". This will highlight winning tips and tricks while steering you away from various gotcha's that many people have got caught up by.
Matt Alder and I, co-authors of "Mobile Recruiting Guide 2012" will be providing free, 'pre-release' copies of this years guide. It is snappily titled "Mobile Recruiting Guide 2013" with a foreword written by this years mRec emcee - Chris Hoyt. So make sure you register for your copy!
See you September 23-24 in Atlanta, GA.
